What follows is and email sent 9-18-01 regarding the events of 9-11-01

Sorry I missed you this weekend. The gig in the city has me tied up for a few weeks, we do need to get together to try to straighten out this mess.

I had the opportunity to watch and listen while the shit went down on Tuesday. I was scared shitless. I had mad thoughts of racing to the Credit Union to get fistfuls of cash then cranking home in order to hunker down in the basement. We would communicate via wireless voice and across the net with encrypted email, negotiating with allies in New Hampshire to exchange drugs for high powered weapons. I phoned Chief to tell him what was up, and after I had the cash in hand I began to refine the plan. I did however make a call to NH for some pre-negotiating.

Seems to me we've been hearing about freaking Terrorists and Bin Laden for quite some time now. They hate us it seems and they'd die just to try to take out a few Americans. Then on 9-11-01 with what appears to be precision accuracy, the shittrain comes home.

So Come on All of You Big Strong Men, let's go to war against Terrorism. We all agree that retaliation must take place, the enemy however is tough to define. Terror is a broad term. Given time I could make a case against Duquette/Harrington.

I can live with knocking out power plants and military installations in Afghanistan, and while we're there let's take out a couple of holy shrines or whatever. (Nothing personal here, hey I keep asking all the Christians I know where the hell God was on 9-11-01. I don't get this Good vs. Evil thing, never did). Send Special Forces out and hunt the bastards down. Slap Iraq around, they're in on it.

What's going to suck is that we're going to lose some of the very Freedom that those whack jobs tried to blow up. Kiss privacy good bye. Forget about going through airports, shit I'd be strip searched. And dig this. I'll lay 2-1 that within 4 years there will be International (Para)-Military personnel on US soil. It will be a NATO, World Police, or a United Allies deal. It would be weird to be busted at home by a non US citizen wouldn't it?

But hey, I'd still rather be in this country right now than anywhere else. While not perfect, our system of governing is the best if administered properly. Plus we have the biggest guns.

People (myself included) do seem a bit humbled. Hopefully a few positives will result from all this crap. Hallucinogens could make a come back.

I may blow off the city gig this weekend, I'll be in touch.
